March 2014 Inspirational Person of the Month

Karen Taylor Good

Margaret’s inspirational person for the month of March is songwriter/vocalist/ author Karen Taylor Good.  Margaret was blessed to have the opportunity to study with the exceptional Grammy nominated Nashville songwriter at the REO songwriting retreat this past summer. Even before meeting Karen in person, Margaret had long been inspired by Karen’s Grammy nominated song, “How can I help you to say goodbye”. A two time SESAC songwriter of the year, Karen has written for song of the biggest names in country music including Patty Loveless, Colin Raye, Neal McCoy, Diamond Rio and Mark Wills. In addition, her songs have been covered by pop artists Melissa Manchester, Laura Branigan and jazz legend Al Jarreau among others.

In addition to her work as a songwriter,  Karen is a vocalist, an author and a motivational speaker. Karen has had nine nationally charted singles as a solo artist in addition to performing with Dolly Parton, Al Greene, Willie Nelson, Kenny Rogers, George Jones and other. Her book, “On Angel’s wings,” contains personal inspirational wisdom.

Karen is a true healer and motivator. Her wisdom and genuine compassion have been inspiring to Margaret and everyone who has been touched by her presence and her songs. In addition, Margaret is extremely grateful to Karen for the feedback, which she received on some of her own original songs, this past summer.
